Note:
Children of all ages are welcome to build fairy houses from natural
materials (e.g., leaves, twigs, stones, leafs) at the sites during the
ceremony
The
Town of Plymouth has three recognized ancient sacred rock sites referred to
as “Sacrifice Rocks”.
Pre-history
natives lived in community with the land - talking with trees, stones, and
the like as living entities. They would honor specific sites that
especially resonated with nature spirits. Sacrifice Rocks were located
along the beaten paths where the inhabitants placed gifts of twigs,
branches, leaves, and other natural gifts as they passed these stones on
their journey.
Two
of these rocks sit along Old
Sandwich Road, one of the oldest roads in the
country. On the Solstice, Angels by the Sea is sponsoring a sound mediation
with drums, rattle, bells, and voice … at both of these sites,
approximately 3 ½ miles from each other. This is an opportunity to
experience a collective exchange of energies with Gaia on this very special
day.
